We wish Paul all the very best for his up and coming event.

I am enclosing my registration for the UCI Gran Fondo Time Trial in Casablanca in February.

I will be competing over 25kms in the 75-79 age group with a view to qualify for the World Championships in Canada later this year.

I will keep you posted.

Regards Paul Durrant

Last night 60 Amigos gathered together for the start of the festive season. We celebrated once again at the fabulous restaurant La Cosecha. As always the food was excellent, the service slick and the entertainment entertaining. Congratulations to Bart and Hanneke for winning the Christmas hamper. (Lucky pair) Thank you to Norman for the rousing speech, to Brian Stewart for the great photos and last but not least a big thanks to David for organising a very enjoyable evening.

This years Halloween overnighter was a great success once again. 18 brave souls headed of for a night out in the Jumilla hills. 110 kms there and 110kms back again. The weather was perfect, the hotel welcoming and the paella was delicious. A big thank you to David for the organization and a big thanks to Peter for the excellent support service

Amigo Steve Donaldson (with pink hair in photo!) recently rode three events at The World Transplant Games in Newcastle-on-Tyne, UK

I rode three events at the worlds.

1.10k TT

2.20k team TT

3.30k road race

The TT’s were held on closed road on Newcastle quayside a 5k loop.

In the TT I managed to finish 8th , which I was quite pleased at.

In the team TT , it was the first time Justin Grace and Simon batch and myself had ridden together!! Justin and me quite experienced in TTT , simon never ridden one before. We actually worked really well together , with me hanging on for the last 2 laps. We were absolutely shocked to get a 3rd place and on the podium.

In the road race at Hetton Lyons Park in Sunderland, it was 17 laps of a slightly hilly circuit , managed to hang on for a few laps then the elastic band snapped , then we had a wee bunch of 5 working chasing the lead group of 6, we didn’t catch them.

In the final sprint I managed 2nd in our wee bunch, so 8th overall.

Quite a successful WTG.
